I got the heads up before the day, that my good mate, Alex would be hosting the afternoon at Matteo as MC (and and amazing DJ in his own right) – and I knew this would be a special one! Start to finish – the day was incredible, hats off my bro!
Giddyup! Melbourne Cup is set to be all fun this year.
DJ sets at Matteos Double Bay in the afternoon, then sailing into the sunset curating the beats on Bluey Experience.

We’re coming out of the gates hot with another edition of Matteo Melbourne Cup lunch! On Tuesday, 7 November.
Aside from the race that stops the nation on the big screen, we’re also celebrating with DJs and a killer Saxophone set to keep you entertained. You can even try your luck in the Matteo sweepstakes or partake in some banter with our dedicated Melbourne Cup MC.
In true Matteo style, we have put together a decadent Four Course Menu to keep you satisfied amongst all the excitement for $265pp with our 2 hour drinks package or $130 for just the set menu and drink on arrival.

So much fun jamming along with James Spy the Saxman who adding horn riffs on Alto in the 2nd half of my set. I have worked with scores of wind and brass players for over 25 years (managing musicians in my music wholesale company, Musical Merchandisers, and also playing alongside them during DJ sets), his tasteful improvosations (lettting the music breathe – the difference between a seasoned musican and newbie) so he immediately impressed me …. and of course, we connected straight away!
A big thank you to all the staff at Matteo Double Bay who brought together an amazing event, my homie Alex Dimitriades for raising the roof and bantering back and forward with me keeping extra fun, and DJ Emily Scott who kept the vibes going into the evening. Special thanks to DJ Ben Howes for the booking, and yes we’ve already been invited back next year (if not before hand) …. Grazie!
