Cymande - Dove (CMAN Edit)
Hello music lovers!
I am excited to announce that my new track “Cymande – Dove (Four on the Floor) CMAN Edit Revision” is finally finished and available for download.
This project has been a labor of love for me, as I began working on it two years ago (then technical problems and life got in the way 🙂
For those of you who may not be familiar with Cymande, they were a UK-based group of Caribbean musicians who blended soul, funk, and often trippy psychedelic Caribbean rhythms to create an completely unique and infectious sound that i instantly fell in love with.
“Dove” was scored in 1969/1970 and although it was never intended for dancefloors being relatively slow and a song this gradually builds, I chose to give it some beat treatment and give the song new life so DJs play it out in a funky bar vibe setting.
The original version has been sampled a few times, most notably in the 90’s by the Fugees on the album “The Score” with Wyclef Jean and Lauryn Hill. On first listen there will be parts that you think to yourself “ahuh, wait I know this track”. And for the true lovers of Cymande, this DJ edit should be a breath of fresh air with the added beats, percussion and rearranged with intros and outros for you to mix in and out of. Note this is a 12 minute songs i have rearranged to 10 minutes including intros/outros and build ups.
I am thrilled to announce that in just 4 days of its release, my CMAN Edit has already reached number 1 on the Funk DJ Charts by Hypeedit. This is a huge accomplishment for me and I am grateful for the support I have received so far.
