Compilation Release: That’s Not An Edit Vol.14

Out Now: That’s Not An Edit Vol.16 – 26 tracks (soul, funk, disco, hip hop).

Chuffed to be part of this HUGE release alongside many of my Aussie compadres. Now up to Vol. 14, this sucker is choc-o-bloc with edits from all corners of the country. All varieties of soul, funk, disco, hip hop, breaks, mashups, soulful house and reggae tinged tunes. Free to Download from soundcloud or Bandcamp for one-click download 🙂

I had started work on “Bohannon – Take the country To New York City” a few weeks ago but shelved it as i’m in the middle of moving my setup space, but then I got a quick message last week from my good mate JR Dynamite reminding me of the deadline.

Pulled an all-nighter and pretty chuffed with the results of “New York is Red Hot (Mo Saxxy …CMAN Edit) – take a listen it below, along with all the other brilliant offerings on the compilation. TNAE comps are getting bigger and bigger and I’m loving the wide range of creative ideas being put together by all the contributors. Big ups to Hober Mallow and JR for pushing this baby along.

Australia’s go-to dealer for some of the finest cuts of Funk, Soul and Disco on planet earth, That’s Not An Edit, makes its return with another bonza selection of beats and grooves on volume 14 of its self-titled and always free to download compilation series.

If you’ve been keeping tabs on the series since it began, you’ll know That’s Not An Edit celebrates the best of what Austalia has to offer from the respective scenes mentioned above. A vast majority of the producers are from the label’s homeland, while a few are producers from around the globe who have chosen to become residents there. That means that for the most part, the sun has got its hat on and while it’s out to play, they’re all feeding off its glow and the good times it brings and then using it as inspiration to bring life and positivity to the music they make.

With all of the previous volumes being very generously packed with music, volume 14 continues in the same vein with a whoppin’ 26 tracks! In one camp, there are a bunch of tracks that are just perfect for backyard barbeque sessions such as Maxxxyt‘s low-slung and acidic ‘New Dimension’ edit, Meem‘s chunky and funky take on ‘Jazzie’s Groove’ by Soul ll SoulFrankee More‘s dreamy ‘It’s Walter’ edit and Timber‘s easy-going re-edit of The Trinikas classic ‘Remember Me’ being amongst a few excellent others.

In the other camp, there are those tracks where the dancefloor is clearly the only thing in mind. There are tracks to help assist the warming up of the hamstrings of the dancefloor faithful from the likes of Steven KingJR.DynamiteDarren Somerville and Hober Mallow amongst others, and then there are those tracks where only the fittest will survive and a few of those more Disco-influenced rockets can be found from Kenny From The DockDJ CMANPecoe and Caratgold also amongst others.

There’s so much more excellent music to be checked out other than what’s been mentioned, so a thorough listen of this epic volume is a must! The tracks are available to download from Soundcloud on the link below. If you prefer higher quality downloads, the buy link will take you over to Bandcamp where you can buy the whole compilation for just $7. The only thing left to do is get into it! Z
