Quarantined = Make MUSIC!
After returning from Bali last week I’ve been at home on mandatory self quarantine, like many of us with this coronavirus going wild, I’ve chosen to be productive and make some music.
Here are songs if you follow my music, I think you’ll particularly love! Especially the Donny Hathaway track (he’s my all time favourite soul singer/composer/arranger.

Donny Hathaway - Love, Love, Love (CMAN Edit)
I started this edit a few years ago and was never happy with the results. I knew i had to be extra delicate with this one. Donny my all-time favourite Soul singer and personally i hate when a beautiful song is butchered by an overbearing beat. So this track is probably one of the most challenging tracks I’ve worked on, trying to respect the original without it sounding too manufactured yet still making it ‘dj friendly’. I hope you folks enjoy this, and if you love it, please play it out ’cause the world needs to hear MORE DONNY HATHAWAY!
The Brand New Heavies - Have a Good Time (CMAN Reshuffle Edit)
The Brand New Heavies – Brother Sister album for me was a game changer – it brought my love of jazz music and contemporary 90’s r&b together in a genre dubbed ‘Acid Jazz’. This particular track is one my favs – such a groove!
Mel Torme - Comin' Home Baby (CMAN Swing Edit)
My father introduced me to Mel Torme and I was hooked, soulful vocal jazz on the crooner dapper tip. Added a swing beat on this to give it more accessibility by today’s standards.
As you can imagine, DJ’s (like many others) around the world are all in the same boat right now, without work for the foreseeable future. Support your local DJs, musicians and other creatives. It’s ART that gives our lives colour and it’s art that will get us through these trying times.
