Take your taste buds on a journey through the Orient and beyond at the Newcastle China Week Hawker Night Food Market.
Join us at twilight on the sprawling greens of Gregson Park, Hamilton. Meet with friends at our communal dining tables under the starry marquee or bring your picnic rug so you can sit back and enjoy the night’s entertainment of music from DJ CMAN, illuminated sights of the roving Moon and Stars themed entertainment and thrilling fire show under our illuminated full moon installation.
The Kent Hotel Hamilton Garden Bar will also be popping back up to give you the greatest seat (and service!) in the park while all the best Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Malaysian and fusion foods will be on hand to feed the crowds. The desserts will delight this year, with chocolate dipped strawberries, grilled sweet pastry cones filled with ice-cream, gelato, tea and light bulb soda to satisfy the sweet tooths!

The China Cultural Street Festival – Sunday 23 September 2018, 10am – 3pm
The China Cultural Street Festival returns to Beaumont St Hamilton on Sunday 23 September 2018 from 10am – 3pm.
This family fun day out will be hosted by fluent bilingual MC, Chinese tourism video host and entrepreneur Justin Steele and feature the
spectacular world-class Jin Wu Koon Lion Dance on 3m high poles, a spectacular fast-moving and acrobatic Dragon dance through the streets of Hamilton as well as a prestigious feature performance on the main stage direct from China by the Beijing Dance Academy.
The streets will be filled with food, colour, sounds, markets, amusements and entertainment for an unforgettable day out. DJ CMAN will be mixing up the beats, and all of your favourite restaurants, bars and retail shops along Beaumont St will be open so you can sit back and enjoy the spectacle or get hands-on with the Newcastle 360 Reasons Virtual Reality experience, the immersive multi-sensory 9D cinema and interactive workshops run by The University of Newcastle’s Confucius Institute and Australia China Youth Association students exploring Chinese language mini-courses, calligraphy, traditional handcraft and so much more.
