Drawing musical influence from his childhood favourite artists like George Benson, A Tribe Called Quest, James Brown, Jodeci, De La Soul, Lou Rawls and Ray Barretto; DJ CMAN today enjoys fusing all these elements into his sets taking party goers on a soulful journey from Funk to Bossa, Reggae to Disco, Hip Hop to Boogaloo, and all things in between.
Armed with a unique ear, deep collection and a skill for combining diverse sounds, Sydney’s edseven has built a solid reputation as a dj over the last 15 years as well as a producer/remixer and more recently as a promoter.A collector of many styles, a typical Edseven dj set could include anything from Detroit Hip Hop to Nigerian Funk, Broken beat to Chicago House, Classic Soul to Future Beat and beyond.

Happening this Saturday, I’ll be playing a back-2-back set with Sydney legend DJ EDSEVEN, for SOUL OF SYDNEY DJS, mixing up the afrobeat, afro funk and disco plus latin infused gems. Catch us from 3pm-4:30pm at the Greenwood Hotel.

From Afro-funk to Caribbean influences we’ll mix up selections from all 3 albums for the first hour. After that we could go anywhere and probably will, but I do have a new Craig Cman Oopsup-Sideyahead /JR.Dynamite Edits packed, as well as fresh Ron Basejam /Andy YamWho, Ashley Beedle & Luther V, + Donna Washington reckons “you can’t hide from the boogie”.
