GIGS: THURSDAY 1ST JUNE @ HAYMARKET HOTEL // FRIDAY 2ND JUNE @ PLAY BAR

Hyped to be laying down the cuts this Thursday night again at Haymarket Hotel: think funk, soul, hip hop and r&b flavas for a cooled out thursday spot after work. The venue is right on george st in the cbd near chinatown, you can catch a dinner special with free beer for pocket change, great beers on tap in a relaxed atmosphere; catch some sport on the big screen and vibe out to the beats. Nice mixed crowd from early on til late 1am or so! Over the past weeks we’ve had some Sydney heavyweight selectas holding down Thursdays like DJ TREY, MR JAYSON, DJ MAKOTO, DJ ADVERSE, JUZZLIKEDAT, KRYSTEL DIOLA, PHIL TOKE to name a few.

This Friday I”m joining the homies D-COW (killa man on the cuts) and DJ AMITY (the deck mistress who always rocks the crowd) at our favourite underground bar, PLAY BAT in Surry Hills, FREE ENTRY til 12am, and you can be sure of some phat and phonky beats through soul, funk, disco, hip hop and breaks. Always a cool crowd and always a riot on Fridays!

“MR GLASSES” CREATIVE AGENCY LAUNCH – W/ SOUL OF SYDNEY DJS (DJ CMAN + EDSEVEN) – MAY 4TH

Already counting the likes of Red Bull & Zanerobe as clients, it’s clear that Mr. Glasses don’t do things by halves – and they officially launched with a mini warehouse fest on May 4th in the Inner-West.

Taking over the secret Marrickville location, Mr. Glasses hosted live art from some of our favourite artists including Thailand’s premium goth export, James Jirat Patradoon and maker of the famous Mike Baird mural, Scott Marsh. Burger maestros Mary’s provided the moreish nibbles, while a shirt printing station from FreshTees gave everyone a souvenir to take home.

Thursday night
catch the opening of ‘Thursday Throwbacks’ at Haymarket Hotel on George St. An old mate just took over this busy after work spot and it’s got a great food and drinks menu which won’t blow holes in your pocket. I’ll teaming up with my man DJ MAKOTO from 6pm til late – stacks of funk,soul, disco, hip hop and good time grooves.

Friday night – Another edition of ‘Back to the 90’s’, such much fun these ones, last month this night was popping down at Play Bar with an awesome crowd and good old school Hip Hop RnB and New Jack Swing Vibes all night. I’ll be on the decks with the amigos Benny Hinn, Dave Cowan, and VJ Spook Aka New Jack Nicholas from 7pm til midnight.

Sunday day-night: Can’t wait to join the Sound Agents crew for the first time at ‘Soul On Top’ on the balcony level @ Crows Nest Hotel. This is a new Sunday weekly with a heavy line-up of dope DJs and Musicians on rotation.
This Sunday i’ll be joined on the platters with my old school bro MR Jayson, K-time, and Will Brown (live acoustic set). 3pm to 11pm on the northside with all the old school

DJ CMAN @ SYDNEY CNY FESTIVAL 2017 DATES, MARTIN PLACE, CHINESE NEW YEAR

Happy New Year, 新年好, 恭喜发财, and kong hee fat choy! Plenty of good stuff happening over the next two weeks to celebrate Chinese New Year. Excited to be DJing Mondays and Thursdays on January 30th, February 2nd, 6th, and 9th throughout the Festival in Martin Place.

Expect lots of great soul, funk, disco, house, ambient and even some chinese and oriental beats in the mix. Join the fun – grab a beer, cocktail, wine or some delicious foods from the pop-up stores, you can even throw down in a game of mahjong. Listen for the good beats, and look for the sea of red laterns! From 5pm to 10pm each night!

Step into another world beneath a ceiling of glowing lanterns as Martin Place is transformed into the Westpac Lunar Lantern Hub.

Enjoy a lineup of DJs, including Tikki Tembo, Beth Yen, Sasha Moon and CMAN.

Grab a cocktail from the Taylor’s pop-up bar, indulge in Bao Stop’s famous Peking duck fries and catch up with friends this summer under a 50-metre canopy of auspicious red lanterns.

If you’ve never checked out The Greens North Sydney, it’s a pretty epic spot to spend a summer’s afternoon/evening. Tonight I’ll be playing some vibey soul, jazz-fusion, disco tinged beats overlooking the city. 8-11:30pm. Great wine/beer selection and excellent food.
